Double-click the installer — it handles everything automatically:
Python, dependencies, the AI model, and launching the app.
Windows may show a security warning on first run — this is normal for new software. Click More info then Run anyway to proceed.
What to expect

Click the button and wait for the file to save
The installer is about 29 MB — it should download in under a minute on most connections. Your browser will save it to your Downloads folder.

Windows may warn you about the file
After downloading, you may see a warning at the bottom of your browser. Click the small arrow next to "Delete" and choose "Keep anyway".
This is normal for new software that hasn't been downloaded by millions of people yet. -
A second security screen may appear
When you double-click the installer, Windows SmartScreen may appear. Click "More options" (or "More info"), then "Run anyway".
WhisperLeaf is safe — this warning appears because the app is new and not yet widely recognised by Windows. -
The setup window opens and does everything for you
A progress window will appear and handle the rest — installing the AI, setting everything up, and opening WhisperLeaf in your browser when it's ready. No technical knowledge needed.
System requirements
- Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
- 8 GB RAM minimum, 16 GB recommended
- ~3 GB free disk space (for the AI model)
- Internet connection required for first-time setup
